Griffin Housing Alliance is a nationwide network of advocates unified by a single goal of making sure every person has access to safe, sustainable, and affordable homeownership options made possible by the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Comprised of participating Public Housing Authorities, Mobility Advocates, Real Estate Professionals, and Champions of Affordable Housing — we are firmly dedicated to helping Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher recipients transform their lives by converting those vouchers into Home Ownership.
Our mission is very simple — We believe that you should have the choice to own the roof you live under. Through education, guidance, and advocacy we will find the path that is available to you with your Housing Choice Voucher.
Bringing together members of Government, Business, and Community Volunteers, we seek to expand awareness and utilization of the Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program — making best use of Federal Funding to strengthen communities through the security and stability that Home Ownership so often brings.
We are committed to the belief that “Your Voucher is Your Choice”, unlocking the door to stability, security, and generational wealth — removing yourself from the endless cycle landlords, instability, and uncertainty that renting so often sees.
Led by Alyson Griffin, a nationally recognized expert in affordable housing, Alyson has been directly responsible for more than 500 families securing a realized dream, receiving keys to a home they own, and equity that belongs to them.
Our vision is very clear, if you’d like to buy a home of your own, you’ve found the right space to help you truly understand all of the options you may have at your fingertips. Whether you’re at the beginning, trying to find out if your Public Housing Authority offers the program, to assembling the team to help get you through buying a home for yourself, and everything in between, we are here to get you to that finish line.
It is Your Voucher, and it is Your Choice - let’s find out what that means to you.

It can be very hard to get a solid yes/no for this, and we’re here to help.
Try direct contact with your Case Manager first, and if they’re not sure, the HA website makes no mention of it, and you’re hitting a dead end, PLEASE reach out to us. We’re well resourced with a network of nationwide advocates in this space, and if you’re not finding the solutions - that’s exactly our mission.
-
MAYBE! We know that hearing that your HA doesn’t offer this Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership Program, currently, there are exceptions, that depending on your individual circumstances, you may still be able to qualify for exemptions that would allow you to convert your voucher to purchasing a home. Contact us - if there IS an exception that is available, we WILL find it for you.
-
